It’s not exactly the world’s most popular snack.
But it does have an extra-sweet taste and a creamy texture.
And now, some chocolate-loving people are trying to get around the sugar.
A new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that regular chocolate milks with added sugar may not have as much of a flavor boost as their plain counterparts.
Researchers also found that the sugar-sweetened versions could have less protein and more fat than the regular versions.
But the study found that people who enjoy a chocolate shake are not only less likely to have trouble getting their blood sugar back to normal, but also may not want to buy another box.
The researchers found that nearly 50 percent of those who eat a milkshakes daily had problems getting their glucose levels back to pre-diabetes levels.
It could be that those who aren’t ready to give up sugar are also not ready to buy a new box of chocolate-filled milkshaks.
